Last week, for only the second time since we had kids, we all went to see a movie. The first time was the Polar Express and I have to say that seeing WALL*E was a far more satisfying experience. Most of the kids got it and liked it and we both liked it as well.

One of the things that struck me about the movie is that it ISN’T an environmentalists agenda film like some have said. It actually is an anti-consumerist agenda film that is far deeper and more based on reality than Al Gore’s An Inconvenient Truth. I’m not going to write a review about it since there have been a plenty already written that are far better than anything I could put down. I’ll just recommend that you go see it, whether you like robots or not.

Here are some of the interesting reviews:

The Little Robot that Could is an interview with Andrew Stanton, the director

Aristotelian, crunchy con is a review from Rod Dreher who we all hope comes back to the Catholic Church soon

Decent Films really liked the movie

Proving that stopped clocks ARE right twice a day, the USCCB movie office produces a positive review.

The Way of a Man and a Maid looks at true romance in the film

Pixar’s Catholic Masterpiece looks at the Catholic themes in the film
