Father McBride's Teen Catechism

Father McBride's Teen Catechism

The Father McBride's Teen Catechism is a good resource to have on hand if you are a teen, especially if you find the regular catechism confusing and hard to read. Father McBride does a good job explaining how the faith works in a way that makes sense to teens and never feels condescending.

As a teen, I didn't feel like the book was quite as well written as many of the other resources designed for people my age. It seemed a little random in its layout, and it was hard to find the topics I was searching for. The table of contents had confusing titles that were not teen-oriented, and overall it felt a little like the workbooks we always had in religious education classes. However, it never felt like Father McBride was talking down to teens, and he used real world examples to tie ancient beliefs to our lives today. It's good for anyone who is longing to grow in their knowledge of the faith, and gives a basis for further questions and study.
