If you haven't been keeping up with the craziness that is the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act, you can get up to speed here. It reads like something that should be an April Fool's Day joke but it isn't.
Today a rally featuring dozens of speakers is going on in DC to try and bring attention to the horrible side effects of this law (thrift stores unable to provide clothes to poor kids, libraries facing the destruction of large sections of their children's books, home based businesses driven out of business by excessive testing requirements). You can watch the live stream of the rally at Amend the CPSIA site.
I also recommend following #cpsia on Twitter and reading the Overlawyered blog (among many others) to stay up to date about the impact of this law.
If this law teaches us anything, it's that "protecting the children" can lead to far overreaching government that ends up causing more harm than good.
