If Amazon Takes the CPSIA Law Seriously, Shouldn’t You?

Note from Amazon to its sellers:

On March 14, 2009, Amazon.com will remove from our Toys and Baby categories approximately 2,500 ASINs for which we have not received certification of compliance with the lead and phthalates limits set by the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act of 2008 (“CPSIA”) from the manufacturer.

All seller offers against these ASINs will be cancelled and their detail pages will be removed from our site.

At Amazon, the safety of consumers is of utmost importance. Thank you very much for your cooperation.

I know people think we are a bunch of Chicken Littles for harping on the CPSIA but it isn’t just us!

And don’t forget, there are people out there who WANT to destroy your business.
