Man, how utterly disappointing. So, doesn't Bakersfield have a Bishop? An organization cannot use the word "Catholic" in its name without some sort of episcopal permission... and they (the Bishops) are usually pretty stringent about this. I've been looking at CatholicOnline for years. I'm really saddened by this news. And you know what? I saw the e-mail appeal they sent out for the disabled sisters... I am also surprised though that Galloway has not, believe it or not, counter-sued... to the extent that the Retrouvaille people advised donors to submit chargebacks to their credit card company. So now what? I read the Bakersfield articles on the net and the stories were written by non-Catholics who were a bit unaware of what Galloway was involved in... To break it down, the NOLA money discrepancy is described as $4,000 (there was nomention of how much total was donated), trhe nuns $16,000 and the Retrouvaille people about $15,000 although that isa bit unclear. Galloway's house is in arrears... If I were Galloway, I'd sell the business -- but here's what's really confusing me. CatholicOnline always represented itself as a 501 c 3 charity... so how could it be facing tax problems? Very sad indeed. OK here's another site that may be of interest: Catholic Answers (and yes, they have Episcopal permission.) As forCMN, if you're not selling religious articles or books, it doesn't look like it's for you... maybe they have a membership for others?

Sorry! CMN stands for Catholic Marketing Network which is a membership trade association for wholesalers and retailers that focus on the Catholic/Christian market. They're based in Texas and recently celebrated their 10th Anniversary. You have to be a 'member' to take vendor space to sell your goods. Retailers from all over the country come to shop for their stores. It's a terrific organization that really encourages support and growth of Catholic Bookstore ownership. Thom Price and Doug Keck from EWTN come to the CMN Trade Show and broadcasts live radio for all 2 - 3 days of the show. If anyone is in the Somerset area please stop in; I'm sure you'll be impressed with what CMN is doing to assist the Catholic Bookstores and manufacturers and even us lowly musicians! >

Doesn't mean we have to be like him.

There's no point in us bickering about this. Let's just hope and pray justice is done for all concerned. That's what's really important.

So do I and I don't need a jury to decide what I already know about Galloway. And the last thing Galloway cares about is being fair.
