You know, if it wasn’t for the wind in the area we live in, it would be a lot easier to get around. Unfortunately, it drifts up, creating huge piles of snow that don’t completely disappear until about June or so. Sunday morning we had to clear out a drift that was about 15′x25′x4′, then two more times in the next 18 hours cause it filled back up.

Found out today that I might have mortally wounded my car in the snow drifts.

Any chance we can get some pictures of the snow paths you’ve made, Ian?

If the reason for global warming causing snow storms is anything like what they explained in The Day After Tomorrow, it’s due to the melting and breaking ice affecting Atlantic temperatures farther south than normal, which in turn affects the ocean’s current, which will obviously cause birds to fly full speed randomly at people and statues of dead people. Or was that The Core?

I did hear one time how globing warming can cause areas to get much colder. I do not remember the reasoning. I live by Limon and we have cancelled a Priest Appreciation Dinner two weeks in a row becuase of the weather. Right now it is scheduled for next Sunday but the extended forcast says more snow. I love all this snow, I’ll be loving it come harvest time next summer!!

The climatologists (how are they different from meteorologists I wonder?) continue to tell those of us who live in Colorado that what we are experiencing is “historically normal” weather for our state. Apparently we have been in a “snow drought” for the past 15 years or so. I talked to a couple at Mass this morning who have lived here for over 25 years. They told me they have never seen anything like these storms and all this snow in that entire time. So much for the “snow drought” I guess. The forecast this morning was for “light snow showers” - when I left Mass, the 25 mph wind was blowing the very heavily falling snow horizontally.
