When singing the Propers of the High Mass, they should be accompanied by organ in all cases except where you might have a group of professional level singers and the acoustics of the church are very active. Solesmes published a set of organ accompaniments to the Graduale Romanum that are still in print and that can be purchased directly from them or from Paraclete Press. 99% of American choirs can not sing the Propers of the Mass without organ accompaniment.
